Peter Renders
6TH-8TH GRADE SCIENCE TEACHER
Peter Renders, an enthusiastic and skilled educator with 20 years of experience teaching high school chemistry, Earth science, and astronomy. Since retiring from the classroom, he has been working with elementary and middle school students. His formal education includes a Ph.D. in geology from Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand and M.S. and B.Sc. degrees from the University of Toronto, Canada.
He has been living in Southern California for 15 years, arriving here from Upstate New York. Born and raised in Canada, but has also lived in various countries such as France and New Zealand. Having lived abroad, he brings a unique perspective to the classroom. He enjoys reading articles about recent discoveries in all branches of science and connecting these studies to his classroom activities.
Outside of teaching, Mr. Renders loves exploring the great outdoors, whether it be on land or in the ocean. As a geologist, the outdoors is a fascinating place for him, the natural world has always captivated him and he is continually intrigued by new discoveries and the endless possibilities for exploration.
