Cathy Zimprich

History Teacher (2nd and 4th Grade)

Cathy Zimprich is an experienced elementary school teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience at Prado View Elementary School in Corona, California. Throughout her career, she has taught grades first, second, third, and fifth, demonstrating her versatility and adaptability in the classroom. Cathy is a dedicated and passionate educator who is committed to promoting learning and student engagement. She collaborates with her colleagues to plan and schedule lessons that meet clear objectives and encourage students to persevere with challenging tasks. With a Master of Science degree in Elementary Education from Capella University and a Multiple Subject Teacher Credential from Chapman University, and a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies degree from California State University Fullerton, Cathy is always eager to learn and stay up-to-date on the latest developments in education. She constantly seeks out opportunities to attend workshops and conferences to enhance her teaching skills and improve student learning.

Cathy Zimprich, now retired as of 2021, maintains an active and fulfilling lifestyle, particularly in her involvement with various educational initiatives for children. As a volunteer reading tutor for the Parentis Foundation, she utilized her expertise and passion to support young learners at the Boys and Girls Club in Aliso Viejo. Additionally, she dedicates her time to the Pacific Marine Mammal Center (PMMC) in Laguna Beach, where she works on the fish crew once a week to assist in the care and rehabilitation of seals and sea lions. In her role within the education department of PMMC, she is currently helping to organize a visit from Winston the Whale, providing a unique opportunity for students to learn about the anatomy of whales firsthand. She is also preparing interactive plush sea lions, which students can open up to discover the internal organs. In her personal life, Cathy enjoys traveling and staying active through swimming, golfing, and playing pickleball. She also enjoys gardening and cooking with the fresh produce she grows, with her two beloved yorkies as grateful recipients. Ms. Zimprich’s passion for teaching history and experience working with young children makes her an invaluable addition to the 2nd grade and 4th grade history program at Creative Steam.
